The Oracle EBS R12 Setup migration comprised configuring OU, LE and necessary rollouts for new expansions. This included more than 250 objects that covered the complete Finance track and limited Supply Chain related objects. The challenge was to expedite the Setup migration with quick testing cycles, which incorporated transformations mandated by business teams.
Client was utilizing manual Setup deployment in its Oracle EBS R12.2.x environment. This resulted in a very cumbersome deployment strategy for new entity rollouts, new OU provisioning etc. The manual process was not only tedious but also prone to human errors. This resulted in severe delays with inherent process in-efficiencies, and also limited IT team’s ability to work on other initiatives causing an overall delay in project schedules.
Client decided to automate its Oracle Setup deployments thereby improving the quality and accelerating the implementation timelines.
ChainSys deployed dataZap for all setup migration processes. Setups were directly extracted from the Oracle EBS source system. Data transformations, mandated by business, were built through automation within dataZap. The process was facilitated by comparison dashboards that gave business the ability to compare Setups between separate instances. Also, BR-100 reports were automatically generated through dataZap, which provided validation of Setup migration and helped the business give a quick sign-off.
