Client is a very large global conglomerate focusing on the areas of electrification, automation and digitalization, and is a leading supplier of systems for power generation and transmission as well as medical diagnosis.
Client migrated a company it acquired, from Oracle EBS to SAP ECC and engaged ChainSys as its data migration partner utilizing dataZap.
The scope was to migrate more than 55 objects from Oracle EBS to SAP ECC under the following target areas: FI/CO, MM/PP, PM, QM, SD and PS. Client mandated multiple test cycles to confirm the accuracy of the data migration process. Also, the transformation logic was complex. Approval from key object owners and business sign off was a major milestone at each test cycle. Scope also included migration of data from non-EBS Systems.
Client acquired a global industrial manufacturing company and wanted to migrate data from the acquired company’s Oracle EBS ERP system to its SAP ECC ERP system. This posed complex migration challenges for transformations required by SAP while retaining existing business processes. The data spanned across multiple geographies, both for manufacturing and service businesses.
Data was directly extracted from the Oracle EBS source system with pre-configured templates. Data was then transformed, as defined by the mapping logic, and loaded into the target SAP system after approval from object owners. Both pre-load and post-load reconciliation gave a mechanism to assure process accuracy and provided an easy approval mechanism. Also, pre-validations were done against the target SAP system prior to the data loading.
ChainSys deployed dataZap for migrating data from Oracle EBS to SAP ECC. Solution highlights are as follows:
